The second edition of the Masterclass with Observatorul Pierre Auger within the International Masterclass Program 2024, under the aegis of IPPOG, ended successfully.

Auger Masterclass 2024 It took place over six days in March, with four days being organized in Europe, with a maximum of 5 participating institutions per session.

Evenimentul organizat la ISS – Filială INFLPR a avut loc Sâmbătă, 16 Martie 2024, alături de alte patru instituţii participante din Portugalia (Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade da Madeira, Universidade de Coimbra, Universidade de Évora).

The full-day program (adopted by all participating institutions) included introductory lessons on (astro-)particle physics and experiments in astroparticle physics, a practical data analysis session, and an online session with all participants of the day. In total, 1460 events measured at the Pierre Auger Observatory (from Auger open data). The results obtained by each participating (high school) student were uploaded centrally to a page web dedicated to the event, illustrating a celestial map with the exposure or flux of reconstructed ultra-high energy cosmic radiation events.

In an international video call with all the day's participants, a live tour of the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina was offered, accompanied by a series of Q&A and a final Quiz, moderated by researchers from the Pierre Auger Collaboration.
